Erbil, December 11-12, 2024 – Tishk International University’s (TIU) Nursing Department recently conducted an entertaining and educational orientation session for first-grade students, which marked the beginning of their academic journey in healthcare.
The event took place on the university’s campus and brought together prospective students, professors, and staff for a comprehensive introduction to the program. The orientation was created to aid students in making the transition from high school to university life by providing them with valuable information, tools, and academic support.
The day began with a cordial greeting from the department’s faculty members, who gave insights into the nursing program, curriculum structure, and opportunities for students. The orientation also covered crucial issues like academic standards, campus facilities, student services, and nursing’s critical position in the healthcare industry.
Dr. Dara Abdullah, Head of the Nursing Department, offered a motivational lecture to the students, highlighting the importance of dedication, compassion, and teamwork in nursing. “As future healthcare professionals, you are not only embarking on a challenging academic path but also stepping into a role where you will make a difference in people’s lives,” he told the audience.
In addition to academic information, the orientation included interactive workshops and campus tours, which allowed students to become acquainted with the university’s resources, including cutting-edge nursing labs and simulation centres that would be crucial to their training.
The students were also introduced to a range of student clubs, groups, and extracurricular activities in order to foster a strong sense of community and encourage them to engage in campus life during their time in college.
