Personal Hygiene University-Community Partnership Project

As part of our commitment to SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, we carried out a community-based project at RONA High School, where we worked directly with students and staff to promote safe water use, proper sanitation, and essential hygiene practices. The initiative included awareness sessions, practical demonstrations, and the distribution of educational materials aimed at reducing water-related health risks.

On December 19th, 2023, the Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) embarked on a community outreach initiative, visiting Rona Educational Complex to implement the Personal Hygiene Community Project.

This impactful event saw the participation of approximately 150 students. The project was structured into two separate sessions, tailored respectively for female and male students, featuring a series of short seminars. These seminars were enriched with activities centered on personal hygiene, sparking engaging discussions and numerous insightful questions from both staff and students.

Consistently, the Faculty of Nursing at TIU is dedicated to heightening community awareness about daily practices that are crucial for reducing disease spread. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to lessening the incidence of infectious diseases within the community through education and proactive engagement.
