How To Choose Your Profession Professionally
On 13th October 2024, the Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop on “How To Choose Your Profession Professionally”. The workshop aimed to equip students with tools and strategies for informed career choices through interactive discussions, self-assessment exercises, and expert insights. It explored factors influencing career selection, personal strengths, market trends, and networking, resulting in a clearer understanding of career aspirations. The workshop included the following sessions:
- 1st session: (Introduction to Department of Nursing).
- 2nd session: (Strategic to Choose Your Profession).
- 3rd session: (The Art of Conversation and Persuasion).
The workshop started with the welcoming speech of Dean of Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, and then presented by 3 speakers, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dara Al-Banna, Mr. Hilal Farouq, Research Assistant in the Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University, & Mr. Ismail Khalid, Research Assistant. The workshop was attended by 25 staff and students from Faculty of Nursing at TIU. The workshop helped students identify their skills, interests, and values through self-reflection and assessment tools, provide resources for researching professions, and introduce a systematic approach for evaluating career paths. It also helped students create personalized action plans for further education, skill development, and job search strategies.
