Orientation Program for 1st Year Students
The Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an orientation event for its first-year students, held on December 7th, 2023. The purpose of this event was to familiarize prospective students with the university, particularly the Nursing Department, and to introduce them to the departmental staff members. The program began with a brief and informative welcome speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, who provided an outline of the department’s history, mission, vision, facilities, and the social and scientific activities regularly held during the academic year. The department’s achievement of international accreditation was also highlighted.
The Nursing Department’s program was presented by the Head of Department, Dr. Dara Abdullah, and nursing staff, who also took the opportunity to explain the benefits that students gain from attending the program, aside from the necessity of earning a degree. This includes the wide spectrum of job opportunities available to its graduates. Students were also taken on a campus tour to view the university’s surroundings as well as all the nursing laboratories and halls.
