First National Students Conference on Nursing ( 1st NSCN)
On May 16th, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a national conference on the university campus to showcase undergraduate research projects from fourth graders at both Hawler Medical University and Tishk International University.
The findings of the research projects conducted by more than one hundred students and faculty members from the two schools in the fields of healthcare, medical science, and nursing were presented. At this conference, undergraduates had the opportunity to present their work, exchange their findings, and establish connections with other nursing students and professionals who shared a passion for innovation and creativity. One of the keynote speakers at the conference was a distinguished nursing professional. Her presentation was dedicated to the significance of research and innovation in improving healthcare outcomes. At the conclusion of the event, an awards ceremony was held to acknowledge and reward the most exceptional research initiatives.
This further helped participants develop as professionals and as individuals. Another aspect of the conference was the discussion of “Research in Nursing: Challenges and Opportunities” by the panellists. During this session, faculty and students participated in a lively conversation regarding the current state and future of nursing research. It is imperative to address these challenges in order to advance in the field. Further, the conference provides a distinctive opportunity for nursing students from both institutions to establish connections, which is advantageous to both the nursing profession and society as a whole. The success of the event has prompted advocates for nursing innovation to consider ways to enhance it for the following year.
Students acquired invaluable experience in constructive criticism and public speaking through the presentation of research projects and participation in discussions with instructors and peers. The attendees’ enthusiasm and enthusiasm were reflected in the conference’s theme, “From the Classroom to Innovation,” as they investigated the most innovative nursing education and research topics. Following this experience, the students were motivated to persist in pushing the boundaries of nursing innovation and creativity, and they are resolute in their commitment to making a positive impact on healthcare. Seminars and workshops were also included in the conference, which provided students with the opportunity to enhance their research skills and acquire knowledge about the most recent research methodologies and tools.
Regardless of whether they were students or academics, all attendees emerged from the conference with a more profound comprehension of the significance of creativity and innovation in nursing, as well as a reenergized dedication to their own research endeavours. At the conference, attendees engaged in stimulating discussions with industry professionals and demonstrated their innovative approaches to real-world healthcare challenges. One of the most enjoyable aspects was witnessing their cutting-edge research on display.
Additionally, the conference provided students with the opportunity to establish connections with both working professionals and fellow students. assisting individuals in comprehending the present state and potential future directions of nursing research. In addition to oral sessions and poster presentations, this conference offered opportunities for learning and collaboration. In doing so, they provided students with an excellent opportunity to establish connections with other professionals in the field and develop a more comprehensive understanding of nursing.
