First Aid Community Project
In an effort to enhance students and staff’s resilience and empower them to respond effectively to emergencies,the Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) were invited to Ishik Boy’s High School to provide a series of first aid workshops series. The workshop sessions were held on November 5th – 7th, 2023, at Ishik Boy’s High School.
Mr. Hilal Farouq and Mr. Ismail Khalid, presenters of the event, launched the programme with an informative session on the importance of basic first aid knowledge and its impact on improving outcomes in emergency situations. The participants were then guided through a series of hands-on exercises and simulations, allowing them to practice essential first aid techniques under the supervision of experienced instructors.
The workshops covered a wide range of topics, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding, choking emergencies,burn, fracture and basic life support. Participants were provided with practical demonstrations and had the opportunity to practice these skills on training mannequins. Ninety-five students and staff members participated in the workshop training.
