Child Safety & Environmental Wellbeing/ A Community-University Partnership Project
The Nursing Department at Tishk International University (TIU) successfully organized a comprehensive community service initiative under the title “Environmental Health and Safety Community-University Partnership Project” in collaboration with Ishik Kindergarten and Ishik Brayaty School, supervised by Ms. Shaimaa Shahab and Ms. Hanan Azad Conducted from October 28th, 2025, to November 2nd, 2025, the project aimed to promote health, safety, and overall well-being among children while fostering early education and development. On the first day, nursing students carried out general wellness assessments for kindergarten children, identifying potential health concerns and providing practical guidance on healthy eating, exercise, sleep hygiene, and emotional well-being.
The second day featured interactive educational sessions, including an informative poster presentation for the students at Ishik Brayaty School. These sessions focused on infection control, proper handwashing techniques, emotional regulation, teamwork, and the importance of a balanced diet, reinforcing key concepts of safety and infection control in an engaging and visual format.
Through lively discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and creative learning activities, children gained essential health knowledge in a fun and supportive environment. This initiative not only highlighted the critical role of schools in shaping physical, emotional, and social development but also provided nursing students with invaluable practical experience, reinforcing their future roles as caregivers and educators. The Faculty of Nursing extends its sincere appreciation to Ishik Kindergarten and Ishik Brayaty School, and all participants for their exceptional contributions, hoping this project will inspire similar collaborations that promote healthy, confident, and capable future generations.
