Cervical Cancer Awareness
On Thursday, 12 February 2026, the Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University, in collaboration with the College of Nursing at Hawler Medical University, successfully organized a workshop entitled “Cervical Cancer Awareness” The event was attended by distinguished academic leaders, including Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of Tishk International University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ozdemir, Vice President, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Assist. Prof. Dr. Vian Naqshbandi, Dean of the college of Nursing at Hawler Medical University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dara Al-Banna, Head of the Nursing Department at Tishk International University, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ezaddin Kamal, Assistant Dean of the College of Nursing, in addition to the faculty staff members. During the workshop, keynote remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Vian Naqshbandi, who expressed their appreciation to the organizers and reaffirmed the significance of sustained institutional collaboration to advance academic excellence and community service.
The scientific sessions were presented by Dr. Sahar Ismail, Ms. Wahida Abdullah, Ms. Shaima Shahab, and Dr. Haibat Star, who addressed key aspects of cervical cancer awareness, highlighted the vital role of family and community in promoting early detection and screening, and provided practical demonstrations related to cervical examination procedures.
At the end of the workshop, all speakers received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their valuable contributions and active participation in enhancing cervical cancer awareness.
