Capstone Project Workshop

In collaboration with the English Language Department, Faculty of Education at Tishk International University (TIU), the Faculty of Nursing hosted the Capstone Project Workshop, held on February 15th and 29th, 2024. The workshop aimed to guide staff members through the process of developing and refining the capstone projects, providing expert advice and hands-on experience. The first day of the event was hosted by the ELT Department, consisting of an informative presentation delivered by Dr. Venera Ulker, Head of ELT Department.

Attendees participated in a diverse array of sessions and activities, each of which was specifically designed to meet the specific requirements of students who were beginning their final projects. On the second day, Dr. Dara Al-Banna, Head of the Nursing Department, delivered a presentation and shared his experience with the Capstone Project. Then, Dr. Norhan Zaki delivered a presentation on the relevance of the capstone project in the nursing profession.

Participants acquired a comprehensive understanding of project planning, which encompassed the establishment of milestones, the management of resources, and the identification of potential obstacles. They were motivated to present their project concepts and refine them through interactive sessions with faculty and guest speakers. The workshop’s most valuable feature was the opportunity for students to receive personalised feedback from experienced mentors. Students were able to establish clear objectives for their projects and identify areas for improvement as a result of this personalised guidance.

The workshop also functioned as a networking event, enabling students to establish connections with industry professionals and other peers who shared similar interests. It is anticipated that these connections will encourage ongoing collaboration and offer students a glimpse into the practical applications of their projects.
