Breast Cancer Awareness International Workshop 2025 News

The Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University in collaboration with Haval Company successfully organized the Breast Cancer Awareness International Workshop on October 12, 2025. The event, held at Tishk International University, aimed to enhance awareness and knowledge about breast cancer prevention, early detection, and survivorship among students, healthcare professionals, and community members.

The workshop commenced with welcoming remarks from Ms. R.A. Hanan Azad, Research Assistant at the Faculty of Nursing and the workshop coordinator, who highlighted the importance of health education and community engagement in reducing breast cancer risks.

This was followed by welcoming addresses from university leaders and partner representatives. Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at TIU, and Mr. Rafar Zrary, representative of Haval Company, each delivered opening speeches emphasizing the importance of partnerships and collaborative initiatives in promoting women’s health and preventive care.

The scientific sessions featured distinguished presenters including Dr. Khanda Yassin, Dr. Marwa Rashid, Dr. Bassin Abdulrazaq (International Speaker), Mr. Goran Noori, and Baran Kamaran (Nursing Student). Each presenter delivered insightful lectures and discussions focusing on the significance of lifestyle choices, early screening, and emotional resilience in overcoming breast cancer.

In addition to educational presentations and interactive discussions, a breast self-examination session was conducted in a private and well-equipped setting designated exclusively for female participants, providing them with hands-on guidance on early detection techniques. The diverse participation reflected a strong collaborative commitment across sectors to promoting women’s health and preventive care.

The event concluded with a closing discussion emphasizing the role of community awareness in early diagnosis and the importance of continuous collaboration between healthcare professionals and educational institutions.
