Nursing Students’ Scientific Visit to Erbil International Hospital.
On October 17, 2024, nursing students from Tishk International University’s Faculty of Nursing/ Nursing department obtained the unique opportunity to take a scientific trip to Erbil International Hospital and attend an educational session on breast cancer awareness and treatment. The hospital organized the seminar to help students better understand breast cancer, including recent advances in diagnosis, treatment options, and the significance of early detection
The event began with seminars by the hospital’s leading oncology team, who offered critical information on breast cancer trends. Attendees learnt about the latest cancer screening and patient care procedures, which will help students prepare for future healthcare employment.
Following the seminar, students were given a guided tour of Erbil International Hospital, designed to familiarize them with the hospital’s layout and operations. Led by hospital staff, the tour included a look at various departments, including emergency care, wards, radiology, intensive care, and outpatient services. This hands-on experience allowed students to observe a modern healthcare facility in action, further bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application. The trip was a significant educational experience for the students.
The Tishk International University and Erbil International Hospital want to work on more educational initiatives in the future, providing students with ongoing learning opportunities and developing relationships between academic institutions and healthcare practitioners to enhance their educational experience.
