A Fantastic Hiking Excursion to Safin Mountain
The world is the true classroom. The most rewarding and important type of learning is through experience, seeing something with our own eyes.
The Dean of Students Representative at the Department of Nursing Dr. Yunus Yaldiz organized a hiking trip to Safin Mountain for department staff and students of all grades.
Dr. Youns Yaldiz, Goran Nuri, Lecturer, Miss Hanan Azad Research Assistant, Miss Shaimaa Shahab Research Assistant, Hilal Farouq Research Assistant and Ismael Khalid Research Assistant led this trip. The trip took place on October 12th, 2023.
Hiking is an outdoor activity of walking for a good time a day or more through natural terrains. It teaches students about loving nature, preserving environment and respecting rules of wilderness. It helps in the physical development and enhances the mental agility of a Student too. Students understand nature and adventure.
All students and staff members arrived at 8:15 AM at TIU Main Campus, which served as our starting point, to begin the trip. Around 9:30 AM, we arrived at the Shaqlawa and had breakfast there. After that we reached the exact spot around 10:30 AM, and students all got ready for the demanding activity. Our attention was attracted to the incredible natural setting as we began climbing of the mountain, and students got to take pictures of the gorgeous mountain beauty.
We hiked 4 miles in 3 hours unintentionally due to our hiking underestimating. The students visited Shaqlawa Market after descending from Safin Mountain and spent time there till 3:30 PM, before returning later to the university campus.
