2nd National Workshop on The Effects of Child Abuse on Mental Health, Growth and Development

Aside from the immediate physical injuries, children can experience through maltreatment, a child’s reactions to abuse or neglect can have lifelong and even intergenerational impacts. Childhood maltreatment can be linked to later physical, psychological, and behavioral consequences as well as costs to society. These consequences may be independent of each other, but they also may be interrelated.

On 2nd of March 2023, Faculty of Nursing have organized a National Workshop entitled The Second National Workshop on The Effects of Child Abuse on Mental Health, Growth, and Development. The speakers who have participated in this workshop were Dr. Nasraw Mustafa Mahmud and Dr. Mohammed Qadir Khoshnaw Psychiatrists and Mental Health Specialists with Miss Yosra Raziani and Miss Chopy Hasib Nurses with experience regarding Neonatal and Child Care. Approximately 130 participants have attended the workshop both In-campus and virtually.
