1st International Symposium on Patient Safety

Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University (TIU) in collaboration with the
University of Almeria, University of Lahore, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and
their partners hosted the 1st International Symposium on Patient Safety on February
21st, 2024 .
This symposium covered a wide range of useful topics, including (innovative patient
safety initiatives maternity safety, patients, families, nurses & midwives experiences,
nurses and midwives’ well-being and safety, risk management, infection control &
prevention, leadership, communication & teamwork, ethics in patient safety).

This symposium will consolidate different initiatives being undertaken toward improving
patient safety and clinical risk management and celebrates achievements in these
endeavours.
The symposium hosts an array of international speakers from collaborating organisations
and initiatives and is a flavour of the enrichment offered through these collaborations
and a token of our appreciation for this great experience.

From the Nursing department at Tishk International University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dara
Abdullah Al-Banna, head of nursing Department was a keynote speaker for this
symposium as an expert and specialist in adult nursing.

This symposium is an opportunity to bring together local stakeholders including
healthcare workers, patients, healthcare services, policy and regulatory functions and
academics and to share with them this wealth of knowledge and experience. It also gives
them a platform to learn from each other and to join in synergy. The panel discussion is
representative of the key national stakeholders
